Our Projects and Programs

Ways More Kids On Bikes helps get more kids on bike and keep them there:

Project 1. "Inferno" Youth Mountain Bike Teams

The "Inferno" Youth Mountain Bike Teams Collective count as four of the 67 youth mountain teams in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League: "PICL" (Pronounced "Pickle").
Phoenixville Inferno High School, Phoenixville Inferno Composite, Inferno East Composite, and Perkiomen Valley Inferno High School teams within PICL are nationally recognized youth mountain bike teams under the National Interscholastic Cycling Association; "NICA" umbrella.

Phoenixville Inferno Composite A.K.A.:  "PXV MTB" was founded in 2020. Followed by Phoenixville High School in 2021. Inferno East was created in 2022, followed by Perkiomen Valley Inferno team in 2023.
Inferno welcomes student-athletes whose families reside in the Phoenixville, Methacton, Lower Perkiomen Valley, and Norristown Area School Districts as well as Independent Riders living in Souderton and North Penn school districts.
Student-Athletes entering 6th through 12th grade are welcome to join the team. From Beginner to Expert, for adventure and or to race (or both!), theres a place for everyone on the PXV MTB Team!

M.K.O.B. is dedicated to helping families navigate the climbing costs associated with the sport of mountain biking. One way we are helping get more kids on bikes is through our Affordable Bike Lease Program. A new Entry-level mountain bike can cost around $800.00-. Lightly used mountain bikes can cost much less, but still be an obstacle for many. Through the generous donations and support from Sponsors, M.K.O.B. has been able to acquire a fleet of mountain bikes leasable (free or low-cost) to the student-athlete for the PICL Season (July through October).

M.K.O.B. can also supply helmets, race jerseys, equipment, tools and bike repairs to families as needed.

Project 2. Trail Maintenance

We here at M.K.O.B. understands the importance of responsible trail stewardship.
More Kids On Bikes and Inferno Youth MTB take great pride in maintaining sanctioned mountain bike trails.

Through our incredible partnership with Phoenixville Borough Department of Parks and recreation, we have been able to maintain several properties within the borough for NOT ONLY the youth MTB team to utilize, but for hikers and walkers as well!

We are thrilled that we have been able to help maintain existing trails in the borough. Cutting back overgrowth including brush, low-hanging branches, and clearing back poison ivy (why YES, yes there is an over abundance of poison ivy in the area), has been hard and incredibly itchy work. But "The trails aren't going to trim themselves!". In 2021, lead by PXV MTB, M.K.O.B. and friends donated over 352 volunteer hours to help maintain, clear existing neglected and forgotten trails at

Veteran's Park, Friendship Field, and Reservoir Park in Phoenixville PA.
With growing teams and members those hours of multiplied throughout the years, and now exceed previous numbers by the hard work and dedication to clear the lans at reservoir Park to make way for Phase 1 of the Phoenixville Bike Park creatin!

M.K.O.B. looks forward to 2024 as we will not only continue to help support Phoenixville Area Trails, the Phoenixville Bike Park, but also support outdoor recreational spaces in East Pikeland Township, Evansburg State Park and support our friends at Independence Youth Cycling at Twining Valley Park.
